Our staff provides broad management and technical depth, encompassing program management, system design/definition, software development, database development/administration, business planning analysis, and technical writing/publications development.
Corporate
- Frank Briese, President. Mr. Briese (University of Maryland) leads SDI technical and corporate activities. He possesses twenty-five years experience with space, aerospace, software, and communications programs, including space development projects, prototype and production avionics, maritime domain systems, and developmental terrestrial systems. His significant program management and system planning experience spanning a variety of technologies enables SDI to address broad-based challenges.
- Erica Olmsted, Corporate Administrator. Ms. Olmsted (Longwood University) performs financial support activities including preparation of cost data, budgets, and monitoring of corporate financials. She compiles and prepares status reports and cost estimates. She performs cost/budget development and supports efforts to identify, manage, and track program deliverables for both Government and Commercial clients.
System Planning & Analysis
- William Vangroll, Senior Program Analyst. Mr. Vangroll (Marymount University) coordinates projects and major technical reviews and performs project planning, documentation development, facilities coordination, and requirements analysis. His background in customer spacecraft launch activities includes pre-ship planning, launch site support, and post-launch activities.
- Gabriel Gerni, Project Analyst. Mr. Gerni (The College of William & Mary, University of Maryland) performs system planning and coordination including project planning, economic analyses,and case studies. He performs research and investigation to develop studies, white papers, business documentation, and technical documentation in support of Government and Commercial clients. His experience also includes Web development, network administration, and testbed configuration. His knowledge of programming languages and other development tools includes ASP, CSS, PHP, and VBScript.
- Bryn Seale, Project Planner. Mr. Seale (Virginia Tech) performs project planning and control activities including analyzing project requirements and resources to develop summary milestone and detailed schedules. He performs financial analysis to develop budget forecasts and to track project performance against forecasts. Mr. Seale supports project activities for SDI Government and Commercial clients, including coordinating and implementing project control activities.
Publications & Technical Documentation
- Ricky Barrios, Technical Writer. Mr. Barrios (Georgetown University) researches, develops, and performs technical documentation activities in support of Government and Commercial clients. Mr. Barrios documents software development processes, configuration management, and a range of technical and non-technical deliverables. Mr. Barrios is experienced documenting and maintaining data management processes, including the drafting, editing, distribution, and archiving of disparate data sources.
- Amy Flanagan, Senior Technical Writer. Ms. Flanagan (George Mason University) performs systems analysis and technical documentation activities for Government and Commercial clients. She develops a variety of technical and non-technical documents, including specifications, standards, user guides, newsletters, program plans, reports, and web sites. Ms. Flanagan possesses specialized experience investigating and defining program security plans and procedures. She has hands-on experience navigating the certification and accreditation process from definition of protection levels to preparation of certification plans and procedures.
- Jennifer Lenk, Technical Writer. Ms. Lenk (University of South Alabama) prepares technical documentation for several Government and Commercial projects. She has experience working with personnel to write, edit, and prepare documents for publication. She develops user manuals, system administration guides, configuration management plans, software development plans, and other program documentation.
- Steve Palmquist, Technical Writer. Mr. Palmquist (University of Mary Washington) develops technical documentation for SDI Government and Commercial projects. His focus is primarily developing user-level manuals and guides as well as spacecraft system/subsystem requirements and interface documentation. Mr. Palmquist uses automated requirements tracking applications to support requirements capture and tracking for large-scale spacecraft development programs. Additionally, his efforts to document software applications include verification of as-built functions and feedback to the test cycle.
- Jeff Peters, Technical Documentation Manager. Mr. Peters (The College of William & Mary) performs system planning, documentation, review, and training activities for SDI's government software development projects. He creates a variety of technical documents, including User and System Administration guides, transition plans, white papers, and requirements documents. Mr. Peters is skilled at performing user-level software testing and documenting accurate procedures. He performs configuration management and maintains hardware inventories. Mr. Peters' experience in education and educational publishing provides a strong background for training system users, both through written material and live instruction. He effectively interprets and relays user feedback to elicit improvements in design.
Software Design & Development
- Brendan Adams, Software Engineer. Mr. Adams (The College of William & Mary) performs software engineering, coding, and testing, along with support to SDI database implementation efforts. He is developing the innovative firefighter RFID Tour Roster and Ride List software applications using C# and .NET technologies; for this program, he is providing significant assistance to overall system design and implementation. He is lead developer for SDI test software efforts including a broadband network test application, an RFID test application, and a user provisioning performance benchmark test application.
- Joshua Adams, Software Engineer. Mr. Adams (Virginia Tech) assists with SDI's software engineering and development efforts. He performs software testing and development of scripts and utilities supporting deployed applications.
- Paul Hinders, System and Network Administrator. Mr. Hinders (St. Mary's College of Maryland) performs system and network administration and development and maintenance of key data flows for the CMA project. He assists with hardware and software installation at deployment sites and monitors system performance.
- Dale Meisenbach, Software Engineer. Mr. Meisenbach (North Carolina State University) performs system analysis and software design and implementation for many elements of the FDNY Fireground Accountability Program (FGAP) including the Handie Talkie application, the EBF-4 Electronic Riding List, the RFID system, and the Electronic Fireground Accountability System (EFAS). He designed and implemented the database and dataflow in the various FDNY FGAP projects and ensured reliable transfer and retrieval of data, as well as cross-project compatibility. Additionally, Mr. Meisenbach developed intuitive, easy-to-use front-end user interfaces. He leads internal product development efforts of EasyStaff, a generic and configurable first responder staffing/roster application compatible with SDI’s Mayday/Rollcall application. Mr. Meisenbach's software development expertise includes knowledge of Java, JSP, Javascript, Jquery, Adobe Flex, Coldfusion and .NET programming languages, and proficiency with defect tracking, version control and database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, and Hibernate. His dual degrees in Computer Science and Economics provide a strong background for application development within the business analysis area.
- Roger Paz, Software Engineer. Mr. Paz (Radford University) performs software development activities including analysis, design, coding, and test. His knowledge of programming languages includes Ada 95, Java, Java
Server Pages, Visual Basic 6.0, Perl, Prolog, Lisp, and PHP with his efforts focused primarily in Java technologies. Mr. Paz also performs analysis and assessment of commercial software packages and Web technologies development including J2SE 1.5, Eclipse SDK 3.2, and MyEclipse 5.0M1.
- Bart Posselt, Web Technologies Manager. Mr. Posselt's (George Mason University) expertise includes Web programming, database integration, e-commerce, and Web security. He uses MS SQL Server, MySQL, and MS Access. His knowledge of programming languages includes ColdFusion, SQL, PHP, Perl, CSS, and VBScript. Mr. Posselt performs IIS, FTP, SQL Server, MySQL, and ColdFusion server administration.
